OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - Jury selection is entering the third day for the capital murder trial of a man accused of killing an Auburn University student from Georgia.
Defense and prosecuting attorneys spent Tuesday questioning potential jurors individually and in small groups about what they had heard about the charges against Courtney Lockhart and their feelings about capital punishment. Questioning will continue Wednesday.
Lockhart is accused of kidnapping and shooting an 18-year-old freshman, Lauren Burk of Marietta, Ga., in 2008.
Circuit Judge Jacob Walker has told potential jurors to expect a two-week trial.
