Johnny Mack Calhoun Formally Charged

Johnny Mack Sketo Calhoun was charged with an open count of murder this morning before circuit Judge Chris Patterson who set a one million dollar bond.

Judge Patterson also set Calhoun’s arraignment date for February 9th.

Today’s charge stems from the murder of 24 year-old Mia Chay Brown who was reported missing from the Esto area of Holmes County on the night of 12-16-2010.

The 33 year old defendant was also arraigned this morning before Judge Patterson on a felony charge of tampering with evidence in regards to this case.

Holmes County Sheriff Tim Brown would like to thank the numerous local and state agencies in both Florida and Alabama as well as the public that have been involved in this ongoing investigation.

This is what happens when you fry your brains on drugs. You turn into a monster, capable of taking the life of an innocent person. Your choice to do drugs can and does effect other people. Your choices can destroy others' hopes and dreams. Please, Don't make stupid choices!!!!! I too am glad that he must pay the price for his choice.

This guy makes me actually want to throw up. Excuse me, he is no guy;he is an animal. How could any human being do what he did to another human, especially as sweet and kind and beautiful at Mia?

Thank the Lord! Glad to have this animal finally charged! I hope Mia's family get the justice they deserve. It is scary to know we have people like this walking around the same places as our children!
