UPDATE: Investigators Charge Samson Man with Motely Mall Grocery Burlgary

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Samson, Alabama man for two recent store burglaries.

In the early morning hours of Saturday Aug. 16, The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at the Motley Mall Grocery in the New Hope Community near the Florida-Alabama State-line.

On the same morning, the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office and the Geneva Police Department responded to burglaries at convenience stores in their jurisdiction.

Later on the evening of Monday Aug. 19, The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at the Stateline Liquor Store in northern Holmes County. Surveillance footage from the liquor store shows a white male committing the burglary.

Also during this time, the Geneva Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, which was used in the liquor store burglary and a vehicle burglary in their jurisdiction.

On the evening of Tuesday Aug. 20, the Geneva Police Department received a report of a prowler and located 28 year-old Jimmy Lee Tidwell.

Tidwell was intoxicated and taken into custody for public intoxication. Authorities also located evidence from the burglaries on Tidwell. Tidwell was transported to the Geneva County Jail.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office along with the Geneva Police Department and Geneva County Sheriff’s Office needs your help.

They are trying to identify a suspect in a string of convince store burglaries. Authorities say a man broke into the Motely Mall Grocery in the New Hope community on Saturday.

Investigators believe the same suspect broke into several convenience stores in Geneva County.

The man is also believed to have stolen a car in Geneva County. If you can identify the suspect or if you have any information that can help in the investigation, call the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.
