Houston County Courthouse Will Get a New X-Ray Machine

On Monday, the Houston County Commission plans to approve the purchase of a new x-ray machine for the courthouse.

The old x-ray machine broke weeks ago, since then the courthouse has only been using one.

Houston County agreed to pay for half of the machine and the judicial system will pay the other half.

The commission budgeted $12,000 for the new machine but bids came in for less than that.

Commissioners say the additional machine will help get people into the courthouse faster.

"We can operate with one but it just causes delays having two it just allows us to run jurors through one location and employees lawyers and others through the other location," said Mark Culver, chairman of Houston County Commission.

They have not decided what they are going to do with the old x-ray machine.
