Houston County is monitoring its budget.

County Commissioners met today to review expenses and revenue for this year and next.

Commissioners say one of the goals is to be able to have a two month reserve for emergency situations.

With all the recent rain, the commission wants to be able to respond if there are flooding issues.

Commissioners add this budget will allow them to move forward on projects that were on hold.

Houston County Commissioners look to approve a final budget on Sept. 9.
