Houston County Commission Meeting Ends in Recess

Houston County Commissioners didn't end their meeting as they normally do today.

Instead, they are in a recess.

The commission will meet again on Thursday at 9 a.m. to discuss bond issues.

The bonds relate to match funds for the A trip project, which helped repair a number of local roads.

It also pertains to funding for the ESCO energy savings project, which currently has the commissioners out of their administration building.

"What we'll do Thursday is approve the documentation and a resolution that authorizes the chairman to move at the proper time. So it may be the next Monday, it could be three weeks before we actually sell the bonds but we wanted to go ahead and be in a position that we can take advantage of the market when the time comes" Mark Culver, Houston County Commission Chairman.

The bonds come to a total of almost $8 million.
