Houston County Commission Subpoenaed

The Houston County Commission has been asked to assist with an investigation, that’s being conducted by the office of the Attorney General’s office.

We have confirmed the commission has been subpoenaed.
According to Houston County Commission chairman Mark Culver, they were served yesterday.
Current and former commissioners are being asked to provide information into this investigation.

Houston County has already provided the attorney general, Luther Strange, and the district attorney with documents they have requested.
Commission Chairman Mark Culver said quote, "We are happy to cooperate with the Attorney General’s office in an effort to bring this matter to a conclusion."

Because this is an ongoing legal matter, no other information is being released at this time.
