Honda will hire more than 100 engineers, managers and others in the next three months so it can build the Acura MDX at a plant in Alabama.
Honda Manufacturing of Alabama LLC plans to hire the workers as it gears up to produce the luxury sports utility vehicle at its Lincoln facility next year.
The Talladega County plant produces the Odyssey minivan, Pilot SUV and Ridgeline pickup.
The Birmingham News reports that the company will spend $275 million to boost its production capacity and shift assembly of the MDX from Canada to Alabama.
The $2 billion plant now employs about 4,000 people.
