The homeless population in the Wiregrass is steadily increasing.

To combat this, local organizations teamed together to help bring a little joy into their lives.

The Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless hosted its annual Homeless Stand Down in Dothan Saturday.

People donated clothing, blankets, tents, food, and personal items.

There was even a hair stylist on hand giving free haircuts.

One family was so moved by the assistance they couldn't stop thanking organizers.

"Don't stop praying and don't give up because it will come to an end if you trust in God," said Christa Clement who recently moved into a new home.

"If they have a need, we're bringing all of our agencies together that supports us and we're collectively trying to assist people get back on their feet," said SEACH President Russell Clausell.

If we want to assist them in getting back onto their feet, we must assist them in getting dirt onto their hands, as in WORK! We should not be like the socialist Democrat congresswoman to stated to Congress, "These people don't need to go work EIGHT hours! They need our assistance!"
