The Headland Fire Department is getting some new rescue equipment.

The department got a $2000 grant to buy an extraction tool.

The money came from "Archer Daniels Midland," parent company to Golden Peanut.

It's part of their ADM cares program.

Right now, firefighters are using hand saws or chain saws.

They say that doesn't cut it when you're up against steel bars.

"If someone has burglar bars on their windows or doors instead of wasting time trying to get in with those old fashion tools we have a power tool that will get us in faster it comes down to safety and life preservation," said Tony Wilkerson.
