HEADLAND, AL-- After 27 years of tradition, a group in Headland is trying to keep their Daylily Festival alive. This is the first year the city will not have the festival in the square, because it was not succesful enough.
But organizers are determined to keep the tradition going at a different venue.
Kate Bush, Owner Bush Gardens II said, “We decided since my mother-in-law is 92 years old this year, she was devastated that the daylily festival was going to stop. And we said no we are just not going to let it do.”
The event will be held tomorrow at 2656 Highway 134 West, Headland from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be different vendors and you can choose from hundreds of varieties of the flower.
