Students were harvesting some of their produce Friday.
They began planting produce like collards, kale and lettuce back in October and now students will learn how to harvest what they've planted.
School officials say it's important for students to learn about harvesting but it's equally as important for them to be hands on.
"The students have enjoyed getting out of the class and applying the learning that they're getting in the class to this. We have junior master gardener material that goes along with it so they are getting to learn about soil nutrition and plants and photosynthesis, " says Principal Kevin Sanders.
School clubs will be in the middle school's parking lot tomorrow for a farmers market from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
