(Dothan, AL)- In 2009, the Alabama Rural Coalition received a grant for $2.5-Million which was later dispersed to 41 counties in the state.

The funds were used to provide housing by paying rent deposits and utilities.

"We're down to a small amount so around April the program is expected to be fully depleted. There is no sign of re-funding this program,” said Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless President Russell Clausell.

Clausell urges people to contact the legislative branch and request funding for the homeless.

Yall got 2.5 million dollars and yall've only helped 500 people since 2009 ? You were suppose to help them, not take them in to raise. They we're suppose to provide some of their living. If they walked about and picked up aluminum cans, it would have been something.Instead of looking for funding, yall need to sit down and find where some of that money went yall already had.
