GORDON, AL--The town of Gordon will soon get another police officer.

The town was recently awarded a 2012 Community Oriented Policing Services grant.

The grant is $66,728.

"This money is very important to the town we have one part time officer now and it will give us a chance now to have a full time officer," said Gordon Mayor Charles Dismuke.

If you're interested in applying for the position you can contact Gordon's Town Hall for more information.
