Gingrich, Santorum to Campain in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is planning a daylong tour of the Alabama before the state's presidential primary on March 13.

The Gingrich campaign announced Friday that the candidate and his wife, Callista, will attend three rallies on March 7. They will start at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery at 10:30 a.m., then go to the Pell City Civic Center at 2:30 p.m. and end up at the downtown Sheraton in Birmingham at 6:30 p.m.

State Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead said he also expects Rick Santorum to visit the state next week.

Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, made an appearance at the Republican event in Birmingham on Feb. 24.
