A town in Georgia is on high alert after a man appears to have been targeting school children with a rifle.
Witnesses spotted the gunman in a neighborhood Monday, crouched down in the backyard of a home and pointing his rifle at the bus.
Police say one of those witnesses yelled at the man, and he took off running.
He dropped his rifle, and left behind a notepad with some information.
He took off on foot.
Police are talking with neighbors to determine a description of the man they're looking for.
The Clayton county school district suspended all outdoor activity, as a precaution.
