SPRING HILL, Ala. (AP) -- Sheriff's officials in Pike County say they're searching for the suspect who fatally shot a gas station clerk during an apparent armed robbery in Spring Hill.
Reports say, Sheriff Russell Thomas says authorities were called to the Hill Mart Gas Station on Highway 167 Saturday night after a customer noticed that merchandise had been scattered to the ground.
Responding officers found the clerk, a 51-year-old man whose identity hasn't been released, lying face down.
Authorities haven't said what was taken from the gas station and a detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.
