PHENIX CITY, Ala. (AP) -- A Georgia man has been convicted on charges of shooting at police officers in Alabama.
Prosecutors say 24-year-old Robert Lorenzo Anderson of Columbus, Ga., faces sentencing next month after being convicted on charges of attempted murder and menacing.
Authorities say Anderson got into a shootout with police in Phenix City on July 25 while officers were responding to reports of gunfire at Riverview Apartments.
After firing several times at officers, Anderson was shot in the leg by an investigator. Anderson recovered and was convicted this week in Russell County.
The Alabama attorney general's office prosecuted the case.
