BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A 22-year-old Anniston man who had escaped from a guarded hospital room last week has been recaptured
in Birmingham after a week-long manhunt.
U.S. Marshals say they captured David Andrew Hunt early Wednesday at an apartment in Birmingham.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force says it received information that Hunt, wanted on multiple felony robbery charges, was staying at the apartment.
Hunt had been at Regional Medical Center in Anniston recovering from eight bullet wounds he received during an Oct. 12 shooting when he fled down eight flights of stairs and escaped.
