Dale County residents could soon say goodbye to the days of having to wait hours in the tag renewal line.
Last night the commission approved the locations for two satellite offices. One will be open at Daleville City hall on Thursday and Friday, between 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. The other will be in Midland City or Pinckard. That will be decided later this week. It will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday.
You can only renew your tags at the satellite offices. Getting new titles and plates will still have to be done at the Dale County court house.
But city leaders hope this frees up the line.
Dale Co. Revenue Commissioner Eleanor Outlaw said, “It’s going to help people with gas so expensive. They can make shorter trips and help with the line here. I just think it is going to be great for Dale County and the citizens. We are taking the work to them rather than them having to come to us.”
The equipment for the offices is expected to arrive next week. So the offices should be up and running in the coming weeks.
