Four Cars Set On Fire In Daleville

Thursday night, the Daleville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire.

Police are investigating it as arson.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, four public works vehicles were engulfed in flames.
The cost to replace the vehicles is around $200,000.

Until they replace them, workers won't be able to replace traffic lights, clean up debris or other city maintenance.

"It has been a long haul having to get good quality equipment to work with and someone does something like this to it and it's heartbreaking to me because I have been with the city for 17 and a half years and it really got next to me," said Jerry James, director of public works.

There is a $2,500 reward for anyone with information about the fire.

If anyone has information they are encouraged to call the Daleville Police Department.
