Foster Street will be getting a timely addition to one of its corners.
The Dothan City Commission unanimously voted to approve the construction of a street clock tower on Foster Street, across from the Colby Building and the Federal Courthouse.
The City received a grant of about $171,000 for a portion of the tower and is going to fund the remaining amount of about $20,000. City officials say they are excited about the tower and can not wait to show it off as a staple of Downtown Dothan.
Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz says he wants to have the tower completed by the Chinese Symposium which begins on Nov. 10.
