The flu is on the rise in Alabama and Georgia.
Instances of the bug are much higher now compared to rates in November and December.
Health officials say it's not too late to get your flu shot.
In fact they say it's better late than never.
Vaccination or not, they say remember the basics to protect yourself from infection.
"Keep some hand sanitizer on you if you can't wash your hands on a regular basis, cough into your sleeve or your coat, and try to keep the social distancing if you’re in a crowd and there's 2 or 3 people maybe that are coughing or seem ill or if they say you know I've got a fever I don't feel well,” said Corey Kirkland of the Houston County Health Department.”
Flu shots are available at the health department for anyone 6 months or older.
The maximum cost is 5 dollars and is based upon your financial status.
