Florida Governor Rick Scott is investing in early learning education.
The Governor is proposing 1.1 billion dollars in state funding for early child education and care programs.
This will provide a $100 increase in budget for each student.
Officials say voluntary pre-k classes offer a higher quality school readiness curriculum with qualified staff.
"We're looking at high quality programs for four year olds with developmentally appropriate practices. This is a perfect example of a program who uses practices who but gets kids interested excited and curious,"
Governor Scott says Florida ranks first in the nation to access pre-kindergarten.
