First Lady Set to Visit Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- First lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to be in Birmingham on July 18 to raise money for her husband's re-election campaign. The first lady will appear at a private fundraising reception at the downtown Sheraton Hotel that starts at 3:30 p.m. Promotional material says tickets range for $200 for a single general admission ticket to $30,000 for a photo opportunity with the first lady and five preferred viewing tickets.

    I cannot rub two wooden nickels together...she would have to pay me to have a picture taken with me! She is no more special than I am. As is says in the Bible the meek shall inherit the earth!

    Wow..... u hv to pay $30,000 to hv a photo opportunity. Talk about highway robbery. I understand hvin a fundraiser but gracious n her position I wld think she wld be obligated to some photography with the people that put them n office! $100,000's toward fundraisers and we wonder why we r n the shape we r n.
