HEADLAND -- Wiregrass residents have certainly had enough of the rain this summer. But, it is finally paying off.
Farmers have had a challenge working in the fields because of wet conditions, but they said they expect a bountiful harvest.
"In our area, I think the rain has been beneficial, it's still yet to be determined," Associate Director of Wiregrass Research and Extension Center Brian Gamble said. "Yields have been good. It's been really good for our pastures, the rain has."
Farmers said there are some places in the fields where the crops were a total loss because of the amount of rain.
