Federal Lawsuit Filed in 2012 Police-Involved Shooting

A federal lawsuit has been filed in a 2012 Dothan Police-involved shooting.

Relatives of Chris Thomas claim his civil rights were violated.

Thomas was shot and killed by Dothan Police in June 2012.

Authorities say he tried to elude police who were trying to pull him over.

The case was presented to a grand jury in November.

No indictments were returned against the officer.

Houston County District Attorney Doug Valeska says he believed the shooting was justified.
