A police shooting that left a headland man dead is now headed to a Henry County Grand Jury.
33-year-old O’Patrick Fitzgerald Humphrey died from his injuries after a fight with officers on January 31st.
Authorities say the officer fired his gun and struck Humphrey in the lower abdomen, after he attacked paramedics coming to pick him up for transfer.
He was believed to be armed with a small black eye bolt in the shape of a T.
The Alabama bureau of investigation looked into the incident because it involved an officer.
They turned the case over to district attorney Doug Valeska about 10 days ago.
He now plans to present the case to the grand jury.
