A woman who was pulled from a burning apartment in DeKalb County has died.
That the fire occurred about 5:30 a.m. Monday in an apartment on Peachwood Circle just east of Interstate 85.
A witness who lives in an adjacent building, said firefighters pulled a woman out of the burning building.
DeKalb Fire Operations Chief Norman Augustin told the AJC that the woman died later Monday. Her name was not immediately released.
DeKalb assistant Chief Steve Ham said the blaze was first reported as a grass fire.
But there was a lot of fire in the building when firefighters arrived.
Fire investigators were working Monday to determine what started the blaze.
