COLUMBIA, Ala. (AP) -- The Unit 1 reactor at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan is generating electricity again.
The Southern Co. said the reactor resumed generating electricity at 11:01 a.m. Monday following testing on a diesel generator.
Workers shut down the reactor Friday morning while workers completed repairs on an engine cooling valve for a diesel generator.
The plant's Unit 2 reactor continued producing electricity while Unit 1 was shut down. The plant is located in Columbia, about 20 miles east of Dothan.
