"We normally don't ask for help and try to do everything ourselves, but we can't physically or financially rebuild"

(Dothan, AL)--A tarp is all that protects a Cottonwood mobile home after winds lifted part of the roof and folded it on the other side last Friday. The damage comes as a surprise to homeowners because they invested money into reinforcing the roof a few years ago.

"We spent $600 fixing our roof because we wanted to be protected from bad weather, " Resident Kelly Costello said. "We knew something was wrong by the way our home shook but it wasn't until we stepped outside that we saw all the damage."

The Costellos don't have homeowners insurance and live off of disability. They're not eligible for state or local financial assistance since their home isn't a total loss; however they still need help.

If you would like to help the family you can make a donation under the name Kelly Costello to any Compass Bank. They family also says anyone who wants to come out and help rebuild is greatly appreciated.
