Storms may have cleared out from our area but officials are still cleaning up in Geneva and Covington County.
Federal Emergency Management Officials were in Geneva on Thursday. They walked county officials through the Federal Aid process.
This isn't the first time FEMA has helped the area out, but officials say this time, it's especially needed.
In Geneva County alone, storms this year have caused as much as $800,000 to $900,000 in damage; that’s almost half of the county’s yearly budget.
Roads could start being repaired with FEMA assistance within the next six months, however, good weather is needed to make repairs.
