On Thursday, May 16, 2013 @1:00 pm at the Dale County Courthouse, the Society of Former Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation will honor Mr. Charles Albert Poland Jr. Mr. Poland has been selected as the first Society Hero. On January 29, 2013, facing imminent death, Mr. Poland steadfastly refused to give up any children on his school bus to a suicidal gunman, knowing full well that not doing so would cost him his very life. This act of unparalleled courage is most deserving of the Society of Former Special Agents` "Society Hero" award.
Former special agents from all over the country have been invited to attend.
