Escaped Inmate

Authorities in Birmingham are searching for an escaped inmate.

Convicted murderer Timothy Richards went missing from his bunk early Sunday morning.

Authorities say he couldn't be located during an inmate count and wasn't found at his assigned bunk.

Richards was sentenced to murder in February 2000 in Walker County.

He had a parole hearing scheduled in May 2013 and was being held at the state cattle ranch in Greensboro.

Richards is a white male, 6 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the local law enforcement agency.
