Emails Reveal Spat Involving Former ASU president

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- The week prior to being placed on administrative leave, former Alabama State University President Joseph Silver got into a public disagreement with two administrators about the university's annual Turkey Day Classic parade.

Emails obtained by the Montgomery Advertiser show that Silver sent an email to the trustees saying he arrived at the Thanksgiving Day parade to discover that cars had been provided for other administrators to ride in the parade, but not him.

Silver wrote that he asked university vice president Danielle Kennedy what was wrong with this picture, and executive vice president John Knight told him not to talk to Kennedy that way.

Kennedy wrote an email saying she had never experienced such a heated exchange in a public forum. She said Knight offered to get a car.
