Ozark, AL - Many wiregrass voters will head to the polls next week for municipal elections, but some ballots will have something a little different on tap.
Buchanan's Grog and Grill has a lot to offer.
“We do a lot of different things. Chicken wings, steaks, several sandwiches,” said owner James Snellgrove.
But they could be adding something new to the menu. A referendum to allow the sale of draft beer is on the ballot in Ozark and Daleville.
This came as a result of requests from our businesses that want to serve draft beer,” said Ozark Mayor Billy Blackwell.
This has been in the works for several years. The bill finally passed in the legislature last spring, but they had to wait for this year's election to get it on the ballot. Restaurant owners say it’s about time.
“We have several customers passing through town their first question is ‘What do you have on draft?’ I have to say we don't have it yet,” said Snellgrove.
His answer will change with a yes vote next Tuesday.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
