Wiregrass dogs now have a new park to call their own.
Dothan's new dog-friendly park officially opened this morning at 9 am. The 4-acre park consists of various dog obstacles and challenges for dogs to play with. Many Wiregrass dog owners are happy about this new park, they say this kind act shows that the city cares about their four-legged friends.
"I think it's great. I was really excited to hear about it opening up and it's an opportunity to let them be without leashes so that they can run around and be able to play and have a good time, especially with other dogs too," said Amanda Chilton an Ashford resident who owns two yorkies.
The dog friendly park is located at Eastgate Park. All dogs who attend are required by local law to wear a visible dog license.
