DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A jury has convicted a former aide at a
Dothan school on charges that he tried to molest two students.
Keaton Battle was convicted Tuesday of two counts of enticing a
child for immoral purposes and attempted second-degree sodomy. The Dothan Eagle reports that Houston County sheriff's officers took
the 37-year-old into custody after the verdict.
Houston District Attorney David Atwell said both offenses happened in 2007.
The victims were 15-year-old boys who attended the PASS Academy. Battle worked there as an in-school suspension aide.
Atwell said Battle tried enticing the teenage victims into a vehicle, then attempted sodomy at a Dothan home.
Prosecutors are seeking a 30-year prison sentence.
Defense attorney Eric Davis said he will ask for a lesser punishment.
