Dothan Housing Market

The bricks are being laid, the saw is sawing, and the cabinets are being sanded.

And that is good news for the Dothan housing market after a downward spiral.

"It looks like after four or five years, of just a downward spiral, in the housing industry even, here locally in Dothan we hit the bottom, and we're slowly on our way back up..

And after hitting rock bottom the only place to go is up.

"it does look like the economy is slowly improving and a slowly improving economy means people have more confidence in their own futures, and that they have confidence now to finally start looking at maybe thinking about buying a new house again, " says Bart Liddon.

But before the families move in and get settled in a new home, the building of homes keeps the economy going by creating jobs.
And that is also good news according to trim carpenter Joe Lunsford.

"it's a good feeling that's part of the American dream, is getting ahead, " says Joe Lunsford.

Getting ahead by having a piece of the pie and owning a home.

"The fact that interest rates are below four percent, and house have just never been more affordable, and they probably will not be this affordable again in another ten years,” says Bart Liddon.

Years that can be invested in a white picket fence, two point five kids and a dog.
