Mcs (Mesoscale Convective System - i.e., Strong Thunderstorms) Continues To March Steadily Southwestward Across Our Ga Zones.

We Have Received Numerous Reports Of Widespread Damage To Trees And Power Lines.

It Appears That The Southwestern Portion Of The Line Is Most Robust At This Time And That The Northwestern And Eastern Flanks Have Become Sub-Severe.

We Therefore Believe That The Primary Severe Threat From Here On Out Will Be Across Extreme Southwest Ga And Inland Portions Of The Fl Big Bend And Panhandle From Leon County West.

Robust Cold Pool Should Take Severe Threat Most Of The Way To The Coast, Although Some Gradual Weakening Is Forecast By That Time Due To Diurnal Cooling And Spread Of Outflow From Its Source Region.

Oscar's remarks...

No severe thunderstorm watch is planned...and even though the storms are slowly weakening as they move southwest through southwest Georgia...warnings may be issued.

Some of these t-storms will cross into extreme southeast Alabama around midnight.

These storms when they were stronger cause a few power outages and downed trees earlier this evening in south central Georgia.

These storms still have strong, gusty winds, vivid lightning and pockets of heavy rain.

All or the southwestern Georgia bordering Alabama and Florida are affected.

Alabama counties likley to be affected are Barbour, Henry, Houston, Dale, Geneva and portions of Coffee and Pike counties.

Florida counties affected will be all the counties from Okaloosa county (which includes Crestview, Ft. Walton, Destin) eastward past the Apalachicola and Alligator Point areas.
