The city of Dothan and Houston County leaders are teaming up in the hopes of saving money.
Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz says the city and county buy many of the same things.
If they buy them together they could get a better price.
The county approved the joint purchases earlier this month. Tuesday, city commissioners also agreed.
“In today's world more bang for the buck. We can get more product for less money, less tax payers money. It's a great idea and I think it will work,” said Schmitz.
In other business, commissioners also agreed to lease the community room at Wiregrass Commons Mall for the district 6 polling location. The next election will be held August 6th.
