Dothan Police arrested and charged a resident with three counts of Chemical Endangerment of a Child on Monday July 8th.
Investigators say while speaking with Sewell, officers smelled the strong odor of burnt marijuana inside the residence and noticed a cigar believed to be filled with marijuana on a table.
Inside of the residence were Sewell’s three children (ages 7, 4 and 10 months), which officer’s state were exposed to the marijuana odor before and throughout their investigation.
A case worker with the Department of Human Resources was notified and Sewell’s children were turned over to a relative prior to her being taken into custody.
A bond amount has been set, totaling $45,000.
