Dothan Resident Accused of Breaking into Parked Car at Wal-Mart

The Dothan Police Department arrested a resident after he allegedly attempted to enter multiple parked vehicles.

On Thursday, July 11 a witnesses saw, Lonnie Hamby Jr., 30, of Fuller Road, trying to open the doors of several unoccupied cars in the parking-lot of the north side Wal-Mart.

After trying to get into several cars, Hamby allegedly entered an unlocked GMC Sierra without the owner’s knowledge or permission. Officers made contact with Hamby at the scene and he was taken into custody.

Hamby was found in possession of two Xanax pills. He did not have a prescription.

Hamby was charged with one count of unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond has been set at $15,000.
