Police arrested 38-year-old Kenyatta Jones for allegedly robbing three different convenient stores at gun point. On July 28th, police said Jones robbed the Kangaroo Convenience Store at 4136 Ross Clark Circle. Less than one hour later, he robbed the Hobo Convenience Store at 735 Ross Clark Circle.
On August 6th, Jones robbed a Hobo Convenience Store at 3090 Denton Road in Dothan. Then, leads started heating up. Police determined Jones was driving a white Ford Taurus and spotted his car on security cameras at each robbery location—which led investigators to the suspect.
“One of the things was they got a description of a vehicle that a person of interest was last seen driving. The investigators were able to find that vehicle and ultimately, they were able to prove that this man, Kenyatta Jones, was actually the person who committed all three of these robberies,” said Corporal Maurice Eggleston of the Dothan Police Department.
Police arrested Jones at 715 Sunset Drive off East Burdeshaw Street in Dothan. Inside the house, they found items Jones used at each robbery. Police charged him with three counts of first degree robbery, and his bond is set at $750,000.
This is not Jones’ first run-in with local law enforcement. Police linked him to six armed robberies in Dothan, stemming from 1997.
