On August 13, 2012 the Dothan Police Department made a felony narcotics arrest following a vehicle pursuit. While on routine patrol, a night shift patrolman observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation at the intersection of West Main and Montana Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop at which time the suspect vehicle turned left onto Virginia Drive and attempted to elude. The suspect passed another motorist and then continued toward a curve on Virginia Drive at approximately 80 MPH. The suspect lost control of his vehicle in the curve and struck a parked car, overturned the vehicle, struck two garbage cans, a manhole cover, and a tree. The suspect, Muta Takir Bolden was treated and released for minor injuries incurred during the wreck by a local hospital after which he was turned over to police custody. Narcotic investigators responded to the scene of the crash where patrolmen had recovered approximately 22 grams of cocaine from the vehicle.
Muta Takir Bolden, black male, 26 years of age, of Ashford, Alabama was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $15,000 bond.
