On December 2, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a recent theft of property investigation.
Investigators say that on November 24, 2013, Mercedes Griffin arranged a meeting and sold a disabled 1996 Ford Explorer that did belong to him. Investigators say the vehicle was left in the 1700 block of Third Avenue, after the victim said it broke down on November 22, 2013. Upon returning to recover the vehicle, he found it was no longer there.
The vehicle was recovered in Geneva County, Alabama with the assistance of the Geneva County Sheriff’s office and Griffin has been charged with first degree theft of property. His arrest now brings this case to a close.
21-year-old Mercedes Latress Griffin, of Donna Drive was arrested and charged with first degree Theft of Property. A bond amount has been set at $10,000.00 All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
