The Dothan Police Department responded to the “Subway” restaurant on East Main Street on Saturday after receiving an armed robbery call.
Investigators say that at approximately 10:50 a.m. an unknown subject entered the business and presented a note to the employee advising them to put all the money from the cash register in a bag and no one will be harmed.
The employee complied and the suspect fled the scene in a white pick-up truck with an undisclosed amount of money. A description of the suspect and the vehicle were given to all police department patrol officers and short period later a vehicle matching that description was located in the parking-lot of the “American Inn” hotel.
Officers made contact with the owner of the vehicle, Kasey Riley, 37, of Bayshore Avenue and conducted a search of the room he was occupying. An undisclosed amount of money was located and Riley was transported to the Dothan Police Department, where he confessed to robbing Subway that evening.
Kasey Riley was arrested and charged with third degree Robbery. His bond amount was set at $200,000.
