Dog Skinned Alive, Reward Being Offered for Information

GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) -- Police in eastern Alabama say a reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in a case involving a dog that was skinned alive earlier this month.

The Gadsden Police say individuals and business owners have shown interest in adding to the $300 that an anonymous donor has offered in the case.

On Dec. 10, police found Skip, a 9-year-old Dachshund, dead in an alley behind a house in Alabama City.

Authorities say the dog's remains were taken to a local veterinarian who determined the dog was not killed by another animal.

Officials say the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case has grown to $700.
