FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) -- A paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne
Division has died while conducting physical training at Fort Bragg.
The division says Master Sgt. Eldridge Jackson, of Alabama, died
Officials are investigating, and have not yet determined a cause of death.
Other details about the incident weren't immediately available Friday.
Jackson, a 23-year veteran of the Army, had been deployed twice
to Iraq and once as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His awards included three Bronze Stars, three Meritorious Service Medals and six Army Commendation Medals.
Jackson is survived by his mother, who lives in Dothan, Ala.
