“The online method is becoming very popular and it’s convenient, but you have to pay a two percent processing fee,” Houston County Revenue Commissioner Starla Matthews said.
December Marks Property Tax Deadline
(Dothan, AL)—Although the Holidays are just around the corner, Houston County Revenue Officials would like to remind homeowners that property taxes are due.
“We try very hard to remind everyone that the deadline for property taxes is on December 31st,” Houston County Revenue Commissioner Starla Matthews said. “Unfortunately, if a payment is not made by that date then you will have to pay a late fee or a penalty,” she said.
The Houston County Office will be open on December 31st, however people can also post-mark a payment on that date through the mail or pay with credit card online. Online payments charge a 2 percent fee that goes towards processing, not Houston County.
“The online method is becoming very popular and it’s convenient, but you have to pay the fee,” Matthews said.
